DAF System Introduction

Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) is a water treatment process that clarifies wastewaters by removing suspended matter such as oil or solids. The process involves dissolving air in the water under pressure and then releasing it at atmospheric pressure in a flotation tank. This creates microbubbles that adhere to suspended particles, causing them to float to the surface where they can be removed by skimming.

DAF System Work Process

The wastewater treatment process follows these steps:

  1. Wastewater enters coagulation (RT1) and flocculation (RT2) reaction tanks from the equalization tank
  2. Coagulates with PAC and flocculates with PAM to form flocs
  3. Wastewater and dissolved water enter the DAF tank reaction zone
  4. Microbubbles adhere to flocs, forming particles that float to the surface
  5. Scum is scraped to the slag tank while clean water is collected below
  6. Most water is discharged while a portion is recirculated to form dissolved water
