DAF System and Dissolved Air Flotation for Waste Water Treatment
Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) is a water treatment process that clarifies wastewaters by removing suspended matter such as oil or solids. The process involves dissolving air in the water under pressure and releasing it at atmospheric pressure in a flotation tank, creating microbubbles that adhere to suspended particles, causing them to float to the surface for removal.
DAF System Work Process
  1. Wastewater enters RT1 (coagulation reaction tank) and RT2 (flocculation reaction tank) from the equalization tank through a lift pump, coagulating with PAC and flocculating with PAM to form flocs.
  2. The wastewater and dissolved water enter the reaction zone of the DAF tank where microbubbles adhere to flocs, forming solid particles with density less than water.
  3. These particles float to the surface where scum is scraped to the slag tank.
  4. Clean water is collected through the water collecting pipe, with most discharged and a small portion recirculated to form dissolved water.
